The Forever Home Series has been something I’ve always wanted to do. Little did I know that this would be the year it would finally start to fall into place.
As a way to give back to the community we live in, I’m now partnering with local shelters and rescues to help their animals be seen. My hope is to showcase an animal each week and help them find the loving homes they deserve.
My first true love was my dog, Rambo, who came from the Wisconsin Humane Society when I was 18. He was my everything and taught me so much. Rambo—who was previously named Craven—was one of the longest stays at the shelter. I had no idea until the staff clapped for us as we walked out together.
That moment has always stayed with me. I hope every animal can experience a connection like the one Rambo and I shared.
Over the years, I’ve photographed many animals through events and pet sessions. Every year, I take part in at least one event that’s nonstop busy with people and their pets. Those fast-paced days have taught me how to quickly connect with animals and capture a beautiful image—no matter their personality.
And now, I get to use those skills to help shelter animals be seen and hopefully find their forever homes.
